Studio rules

GENERAL CONDUCT

  • Respect and Care. Treat the studio space, equipment, and materials with the utmost respect and care.

  • Follow Instructions. Adhere to the guidelines and instructions provided by the studio staff.

USE OF EQUIPMENT

  • Inspection. Check all equipment for proper functioning before use.

  • Authorized Use. Only operate equipment that you have been trained to use.

  • Manuals. Follow the user manuals and safety guidelines for each piece of equipment.

  • Maintenance. Clean and properly maintain all equipment after use, ensuring it is returned to its designated place.

MATERIALS & TOOLS

  • Economical Use. Use materials responsibly and avoid waste.

  • Personal Tools. Use only the designated potter's tools. Store your tools on the shelf assigned to you.

  • Studio Tools. Return all studio tools and materials to their proper storage areas after use.

  • Inventory Notification. Inform staff if supplies or tools are running low.

CLEANLINESS & ORDER

  • Tidy Up Tools and Equipment. Clean and put away any tools, bats, or towels you use. This helps maintain a clutter-free workspace.

  • Wipe Down the Plaster Table. After using the plaster table, wipe it down with a wet towel to keep the studio neat and ready for the next member.

  • Handle Dirty Water Responsibly. Pour dirty water down the toilet and wash the bowls, ensuring a cleaner and more organized studio.

  • Mop Up Around the Pottery Wheel. If you notice any dirt around your pottery wheel, mop the floor.

  • Workspace Cleaning. Thoroughly clean your workspace after each session, using the provided cleaning supplies.

  • Waste Disposal. Dispose of all waste materials in the designated bins, following recycling guidelines where applicable.

  • Common Areas. Keep common areas like sinks, tables, and drying racks clean and uncluttered.

SAFETY

  • Outdoor Sanding. Conduct all sanding work with sandpaper outside to ensure a dust-free environment inside the studio.

  • Substance Use. Do not use the studio under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substances.

  • Emergency Procedures. Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures and exits.

  • Incident Reporting. Report any accidents, injuries, or equipment malfunctions to studio staff immediately.

FINAL PROVISIONS

  • Financial Responsibility. Members are financially responsible for any damage to studio property caused by misuse or negligence.

  • Rule Enforcement. Violations of these rules may result in disciplinary action, including temporary or permanent suspension of studio privileges.

  • Rule Updates. The administration reserves the right to update these rules as necessary. Members will be notified of any changes.
